In a world where air quality is increasingly compromised, OTOS8000 Engineer & Design Team's Air Wing lll emerges as a beacon of innovation. This award-winning design offers a comprehensive solution to air pollution in workplaces, particularly those exposed to welding fumes, harmful dust, and odorous environments.

The inspiration behind Air Wing lll stems from the need to improve poor working environments where odors, harmful dust, and welding fumes are generated. The team aimed to prevent pneumoconiosis and respiratory infections by purifying contaminated outside air and providing clean, refreshing air.

What sets Air Wing lll apart is its unique properties. It is a powered air purifying respirator designed specifically for welding environments. It not only purifies contaminated outside air but also provides protection for the head and face in places where harmful dust, odors, and respiratory infectious diseases are prevalent.

The realization of Air Wing lll involved the composition of tanned products. The design team focused on creating a precise and slim structure, eliminating unnecessary areas to minimize product weight. The respirator consists of a body, dust filter, pre-filter, and filter cover. The dust filter is a high-efficiency filter capable of filtering fine particles, welding fumes, harmful dust, various pollutants, pesticide ingredients, and respiratory pathogens.

The design process was not without challenges. The team had to ensure the respirator maintained a stable fit for workers in narrow and poor working environments. They considered a belt with excellent fit to improve comfort and reduce fatigue due to long working hours. The diversification of work environments also required an optimized design beyond the general industrial field and narrow, closed workshops.

The Air Wing lll project started and finished in 2018 in Korea. It has since garnered recognition, winning the Silver A' Safety Clothing and Personal Protective Equipment Design Award in 2019. This award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that demonstrate outstanding expertise and innovation.
